Helping you improve and work on your home

Supporting and educating you on the growth and refinement of your spaces.

Being devoted to serving you and your pursuit of an authentic, functional and beautiful home.

I’m Sara and I am the founder and principal designer of Clover Hill Design, an award winning design firm based out of Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  I believe in the design philosophy that balancing comfort, function and simplicity creates renewed spaces with authentic beauty.

It all starts with really understanding how you use your space, getting rid of the things that you don't really love, and accentuating your own personality, story and history.

I am a LEED Accredited Professional with an AAS degree in Interior Design from SLCC in St Louis Missouri and a BS degree in Natural Resources from Cornell University in Ithaca New York.

I’ve spent 10 years immersed in selecting furniture, fixtures and finishes, creating detailed floor plans, and giving my clients clear, practical and personalized design services.

Why Choose Me?

Service

Balance

With every design project I strive to balance:

beauty & function

old & new

affordability & luxury

simplicity & sophistication

Creativity

Design projects are puzzles and I use my creativity to find the right solutions.  I obsess over floor plans and immerse myself in design concepts, to ensure that clients get the most functional and authentic spaces that will make their homes a place they love.

More about me....

I grew up in the Finger Lakes of New York.  My Mom and Dad gave me a love for all things home - painting, wallpapering, refinishing, rearranging, remodeling, building, crafting, decorating, sewing and hunting for antique treasures. Saturdays were for projects and Sunday mornings were for This Old House.

After graduating from Cornell University I moved to Saint Louis Missouri where I worked as an outdoor educator.  I spent my days taking kids and adults, from all walks of life, caving, hiking, canoeing, camping and rock climbing. My career changed but I stayed in Saint Louis for 16 years. It is a city I will always hold dear in my heart.

I am a wife and a mom and when I'm not working you can find me:

  • knitting

  • sewing

  • walking my Chocolate Labrador

  • building Legos with my son

  • hunting for vintage and antique treasures

  • pouring over every design magazine and book I can get my hands on
